An original artwork based on a day at the beach with my 3 year old.
“Look Pāpā, they look like that whirly twirl thing Grandma got me”. A simple statement that proved to be the inspiration for one of my first artworks that I would eventually mint as an NFT.
Pōneke locals might recognise Mākara Beach and our version of the windfarm that overlooks the Tasman Sea.
The sweeping brushstrokes in this piece pay tribute to one of my favourite New Zealand artists from the 1960's and 70's and the black outlines a throwback to the drawing style I employed as a kid and my early work as a graphic designer.
This artwork sets out to remind us there are always alternative perspectives and imagination should be nurtured and carried through to adulthood.
